36th Summer Puppet Pier Festival

between 16th and 31th of August

Participation in the festival is open to all professional puppet theatres, independent puppet theatre groups, and individuals. In addition to the basic technical data, we also ask the applicants to submit promotional materials, photos and a recording of their performance. The organizing committe will invite to the festival those performaces chosen by the selection committee. The festival will purchase the selected performances.

ABOUT THE SPP

Since 1990, the Maribor Puppet Theatre has been organising the Summer Puppet Pier, an annual international summer festival in the city. Every year, in August, thousands of visitors enjoy an excellent  programme. Primarily, the festival offers the best foreign and domestic puppet performances for children, as well as performances for adults, workshops, exhibitions, installations, and other accompanying events. With the support of the Municipality of Maribor, Maribor puppeteers every year attract the best that the puppet world has to offer. Since the 30th Summer Puppet Pier festival, the best performance selected by the children's jury receives the Golden Giraffe Award.

The tickets for the performances at Puppet Theatre Maribor are available here. From 5th of August also at the box office of the theatre. The number of tickets is limited.
